How to cancel


If you have made a booking but then you are unable to attend the event, please let the organiser know as soon as possible. Otherwise, we may have to pay for the meal.

 

Lifts to Boating Meetings


You don't have to own a boat to be a member of the Womack Herons. However, many of our meetings take place at riverside locations and some people travel there by boat.

If you would like a lift on one of the boats going to a meeting, you would be most welcome. To arrange this just send an e-mail to the following address:

MEETINGS

Here are the details of future meetings. Members are welcome at all meetings.

In some cases, it is necessary to contact the meeting organiser to let them know you are coming or to choose menus or some other option. You will find details of how to do this with each event. Please note that some dates and venues may change. We will send an e-mail to all members if this happens. If you change your e-mail, please make sure that the organisers know or you may miss out.
Visitors and guests are always welcome at Herons Meetings.

Tuesday 5th March: Spring Supper at The Lodge, Vicarage Road, Salhouse NR13 6HD, 6pm:  Booking required by February 20th.  Please note this is a change of date.

Friday 22nd March: Lunch at Cote Brasserie, Norwich at 12 noon followed by the ‘Marble Halls Tour’, led by the Showbox Enterprise, at 2.30pm, Cost £15pp.  Booking for the Tour with payment of £15pp required by February 13th; Booking for lunch, with menu choices, needed by March 14th. The tour, which lasts 1 hour, gives us the opportunity to learn the story and enjoy the splendours of Surrey House, one of the 12 historically important buildings in Norwich. Meet for the tour under the Norwich Union Clock on Surrey Street. The lunch and the tour can be booked separately.  Please note this is a change of date.


Tuesday 9th April: Lunch at the Fur and Feathers, Woodbastwick, 12.30pm.  Booking is required by 2nd April with menu choices – see the menu at www.furandfeathernorfolk.com/menu For those wishing to come by boat - the Fur & Feathers is a 15/20 min walk from Salhouse Broad – moorings are chargeable.

Friday 26th April: Spring Walk and Lunch, Southrepps:  The walk is about 3 miles on lanes and field tracks and will start at 11am from the Vernon Arms, Church St, Southrepps NR11 8NA.  Lunch is booked for 12.30pm. The pub will be open from 10.30am so non-walkers can enjoy its warmth and hospitality whilst waiting. Booking, with menu choices, required by 19th April.

Thursday 9th May: Visit to East Ruston Old Vicarage Gardens. Meet at 2pm then enjoy the gardens in your own time with friends.  Meet for optional afternoon tea in the café at 3.30pm. Entry to Gardens £13pp.

Wednesday 22nd May: Picnic on Fisherman’s Green, How Hill, Ludham at 12.30pm.  BYO picnic and chairs. Free Parking and public moorings are available at How Hill.

Saturday 20th July Visit to Burgh Castle followed by Lunch
Friday 2nd August: Cream Tea Event in Horning
Saturday 17th August: Picnic at Gay’s Staithe
Thursday 5th September: Visit to the East Anglian Transport Museum.
Friday 27th September: Fish and Chips at the White Horse, Upton.
Tuesday 8th October: Visit to Langham Glass
Thursday 24th October: End of Season Supper. The Swan, Horning.
Tuesday 19th November: AGM followed by Supper and the Stan Coles Trophy Quiz.
Wednesday 4th December: Winter Walk, Buttle Marsh and Lunch at the Kings Arms
